BHS-A Fuzz | Reeves Electro | One Knob, Pure Silicon Fuzz!
The Reeves Electro BHS-A Fuzz into the Milkman Sound One Watt Plus with a pre-broken-in Jupiter 12-LA alnico speaker, played with my Black Bobbin JM with Mastery Bridge and Vibrato and Emerson Custom Treble Bleeds, plus the Effectrode Tube Vibe. Welcome back to Edge of Breakup.
The Reeves Electro BHS-A BlackHatSound Alpha One Knob Fuzz is built around a carefully selected pair of ME4003 transistors from the 70s, wired entirely point-to-point with no printed circuit boards. Each pedal is hand-built in Northamptonshire, UK, in an acid-etched enclosure that develops its own gunmetal patina. One knob, one fuzz.
The Black Bobbin JM is a Chicago-designed offset, a love letter to Leo Fender’s most famous offset design, here with a Mastery Bridge and Vibrato and Emerson Custom Treble Bleeds so the guitar volume knob keeps its highs as you roll back. It’s loaded with Fralin Hum-Canceling Jazzmaster pickups, made by hand in Richmond, Virginia.
The Milkman Sound One Watt Plus is a true Class A, single-ended, all-tube amp running two 6V6s in parallel, good for 10 watts clean and about 18 watts of overdrive, with onboard power scaling that drops it to 1 watt. The pre-broken-in Jupiter 12-LA alnico speaker brings a classic American alnico voice, woody and lively on top. The Effectrode Tube Vibe adds three-dimensional, swirling modulation on top of whatever gain stage comes before it.
