Very excited to welcome R2R Electric back to the channel, this time with a look across Chris Vincent's Distorter Fuzz line - - the Ge Distorter NKT (50s/60s Newmarket NKT27U Transistor Fuzz Face), - the Ge Distorter (blend of Germanium Schaller and Fuzz Face), - the Si Distorter TFK (50s/60s Telefunken Silicon Transistors), and - and the Si Distorter (blend of Silicon Schaller and Fuzz Face). I compared them across full fuzz gain with the guitar volume maxed and the bridge pickup roaring, but also with the volume knob cleaning up with the fuzzes to show the introcacies of how they react to your guitar's controls. I picked up a bufferless switcher from The Gig Rig (Dan from That Pedal Show) so I can seamlessly switch between the different transistor sets. Today I am featuring my Custom Shop Fender Stratocaster Journeyman '60 with Curtis Novak Pickups Strat-V Neck and Middle / Strat-TB Cojones bridge (this is a brand new Curtis Novak Protoype Strat Bridge pickup 🤫), wired up with an Emerson Custom 5-Way Strat Blender Wiring Kit and Treble Bleed, into the Benson Monarch and a 2x12" cabinet with 4 mics on it, into a Universal Audio x4 and Ableton Live.
