Benson Amps returns to the channel with a full dedicated showcase of the Vincent head — 30 watts of cascading Vinny into Chimera/Monarch-esque clean channel magic. Welcome back to Edge of Breakup.
In this episode the Benson Amps Vincent head and Benson 2x12" cabinet take center stage — featuring the BilT Guitars DK Ultra S.S. Zaftig with Lollar La Prima Mini-Humbuckers and Emerson Custom Treble Bleed, into Scumback H75-PVC speakers via the Boss Waza Tube Amp Expander. The Benson Amps Preamp and Germanium Fuzz feature from 10:17 onward.

The Benson Amps Vincent is a 30-watt channel-switching amplifier with a genuinely unique architecture: it cascades a 1-watt Vinny Dirt Channel into a 30-watt Chimera/Monarch-esque Clean Channel. The Vinny Dirt Channel is the pre-gain stage — a warm, harmonically rich 1-watt gain circuit that feeds directly into the front end of the 30-watt Clean Channel. The result is an amp that produces a Monarch-style clean tone at its foundation but can be driven by the Vinny circuit for pushed and cranked tones that feel organic and amp-driven rather than pedal-driven. The only Benson amp with an onboard effects loop — tube powered, placed post-Vinny and pre-Clean Channel power amp gain.
Three core tonal zones explored in this demo: the clean channel alone from 03:53 — wide, open, and detailed; the clean channel pushed with the Benson Preamp pedal as the gain source from 10:17; and the fully cranked clean channel boosted first by the Benson Preamp and then by the Benson Germanium Fuzz from 20:51. The Vinny Dirt Channel activated at 25:40 in Low Gain mode and 28:50 in High Gain mode, boosting the already-cranked Clean Channel from below.
