The Lollar '63 Jazzmaster is Jason Lollar's vintage-correct recreation of the original Fender Jazzmaster single coil — wide flat coils, Alnico 5 magnets, and the specific coil geometry that gives Jazzmaster pickups their characteristic warmth and bloom compared to a Stratocaster or Telecaster single coil. Explored across lower gain tones from 01:21, showing off the natural clarity and dynamic response before any drive enters the chain.
The Emerson Custom 1 Meg Premier Pro Pots are the correct resistance value for Jazzmaster and Jaguar circuits — 1 Meg keeps the full frequency response of the pickup intact, where the 250K or 500K pots used in most other guitar wiring bleed off high-frequency content. Three years in development, fiberglass substrate, proprietary 20% audio taper designed to feel consistent in both volume and tone positions. Combined with the Emerson Treble Bleed, the volume knob cleanup explored at length from 04:56 is exceptionally responsive — full-range and musical no matter where the volume sits. The Effectrode Tube Vibe adds low-gain modulation textures to that same cleaned-up tone from 06:45.
Also featured: the Hello Sailor Effects Abbey Road Fuzz from 08:22 — Joe's heavily modified Fuzz Face built in Gosport, UK, specifically to work as well with humbuckers as it does with single coils. Fuzz cleanup versus full blast compared directly from 09:49, with the Tube Vibe stacking in from 13:04. The Benson Vincent's Dirt Channel (Vinny Gain) closes the demo from 14:27, with the Tube Vibe's Boost function pushing it further from 15:26.
