Dazatronyx Transistor Fuzz

Dazatronyx is the work of Darron Thornbury, building pedals entirely by hand at home in Melbourne, Australia — designed, powder coated with Dulux Australia's industrial powder coat (tougher than the originals), drilled, printed, soldered, and assembled in one place by one person.
The ТРАНЗИСТОР (Transistor) — the Cyrillic spelling is the point — is a faithful recreation of the V7C Tall Font Russian Big Muff, the most sought-after variant of the Russian-era Electro-Harmonix muffs produced in the 1990s. The Tall Font Russian is famous for its more musical low-frequency clarity and bloom compared to earlier muff variants — thicker in the low end, smoother in the midrange, less nasal and scooped. Darron has kept the entire design true to the original: carbon film resistors (period-correct), polystyrene capacitors in a 1000pF dual series configuration at each gain stage (exactly as the originals), and Soviet black glass clipping diodes.
The one addition that Darron considers too useful to leave out: a Mids control. Rotated fully counterclockwise it delivers exactly the original Russian Muff tone — the deep mid scoop that defines the circuit. Move it clockwise and the mid scoop fills in progressively, taking the Transistor from classic scooped Muff territory into a more focused, present, cutting character. The Mids control interacts with the Tone knob in a way that expands the usable range of the circuit significantly beyond what the original hardware could do.
